Iowa State University’s Recreation Services is working hard to continue providing programs and services to our students, faculty, and staff while our facilities stay closed.

Staying active is an important piece of physical health so we wanted to share some resources for you to be able to be a part of right from the comfort of your home. Exercise is also unique in that it can boost our mental health, so it’s more important than ever to keep our minds clear and focused.

Virtual Fitness Classes

In-Person classes may be cancelled, but online fitness classes are here and LIVE! Workout in the comfort of your home alongside your favorite Rec Services fitness instructors. Here’s how it works:

  • Check out our VIRTUAL class schedule on our website & social media
  • Log into Instagram and make sure you follow @ISURECS
  • Tap our Profile picture when we are LIVE
  • Enjoy the workout

Adventure:

Bike Rides:

Tune-Up Your Bike:

  • Tighten seat, handlebars, brakes, wheels
  • Inflate tires
  • Lube chain
  • Check lights
  • Clean it!

Note: Adjustments to brakes & derailleurs (gears) should be done by a mechanic.  Might want to have a mechanic change your tire tube too if you have not done it before.

General Exercise: Got to the Recreation Services web site and look-up the virtual fitness classes.  Stay in shape even now!

Trip Planning: Why not use this time to plan your next big or small adventure?  The Power Point provided was designed for professionals in the field of Outdoor Recreation but the content will be very helpful for you when planning your next adventure.
