Staff Spotlight: Cam Haerther Spotlight bio photo Cam Haerther

Cam started out here at Rec Services as a personal trainer but quickly expanded his duties to facilities and fitness instructor. Initially, Cam took on the role of a fitness instructor to gain more hours, and we are so glad he did! Cam, a mechanical engineering major, has improved his leadership, communication, and public speaking skills through working in these positions. “Public speaking has always been something I struggled with, but group fit has helped me overcome that fear. Group fit has allowed me to meet many wonderful people. The patrons that attend my classes make my job fun. It makes me excited to create fun, unique workouts that they will enjoy”. Cam enjoys receiving constructive feedback from the patrons that attend his classes as well as gaining knowledge from other instructors and trainers. He enjoys the creative aspect that comes with making new and unique workouts and he hopes to contribute that knowledge of programming workouts to newer trainers. After graduation, Cam will be working at EFCO in Des Moines as a customer solutions group engineer. He believes that Rec Services has helped his professionalism grow immensely.

Our male instructors like Cam add so much diversity to our program and we are so thankful for their hard work!
