Workshops

The workshops offered through the Outdoor Recreation Program are geared toward the beginner and intermediate level participants. Workshops we offer are kayaking, rock climbing, outdoor cooking, skiing, snowboarding, and many more. No matter what your interest or skill level, you will learn something new!

Wilderness First Aid (NOLS) September 7th-8th
Rock 1- Introduction to Rock Climbing and Belaying September 9th, September 25th, October 10th, October 21st, November 5th, and November 20th
Rock 2- Lead Climbing September 16th, October 2nd, and October 24th
Rock 3- Intro to Sport Climbing October 12th
Kayak 1- Intro to Paddling September 22nd
Kayak 2- Intro to White Water September 12th
Canoeing Workshop September 15th
Bicycle Maintenance September 19th
Rock Craft (Outdoor Climbing) October 19th

Weekends Trips

Are you looking for weekend adventure? Join the Outdoor Recreation Program (ORP) on one of our many weekend trips this spring! We offer trips that range from one day local trips, to action packed two and three day adventures traveling to nearby states, all on the weekends. Our weekend trips are a great chance to unwind, meet new people, experience nature, and engage in new activities. Check out the list below for a detailed list of all of our trips!

Trips Include:

  • Transportation and Drivers
  • Food once we reach the destination (road meals not included)
  • Technical equipment (personal clothing not included)
  • Logistics and reservations for the trip
  • Trip Leaders to plan and manage the trip

This fall we are offering 7 Extended Trips which will occur over Fall Break. Don’t worry, even though these are longer we will have you home for Thanksgiving!

Refund Policies

  1. Full refunds will be provided to all participants if a Trip/Workshop is cancelled by ISU.
  2. For a full refund to be granted, registered participants who cancel on a Trip/Workshop must be replaced. This can be done by getting a replacement from the Waiting List or by the individual finding a replacement for their spot. This must be done;

-Day Trips- Two weeks prior to the departure

-Workshops- two weeks prior to the workshop

-Extended Trips and Weekend Trips- Two weeks prior to the pre-trip meeting

Refunds will be given via an ISU check for those that pay in cash or write a check for payment or if paid by a credit card, you will be contacted to come in and have your credit card credited.
