Kettlebells may seem a little old school, but if they’ve been around this long, there’s a reason why. Kettlebell exercises are a great way to strength train not only the legs, but the arms and core. Getting started with kettlebells is extremely simple! It just requires a basic understanding of proper form and effective exercises. You can visit Lied 3rd floor to find a variety of kettlebells, or learn the basics when you attend Group Fitness classes at State Gym.
Attending a group fitness kettlebell class will equip you with all the knowledge you need to start exercising with a kettlebell regularly. At class you will receive detailed form cues and corrections, so you can be sure you’re making the most of every squat and every swing.

Alexa currently teaches a Kettlebell class at State Gym every Wednesday night, “Kettlebells are an amazing piece of exercise equipment that are fully functional and can help improve people’s total body strength especially CORE, increase cardiorespiratory endurance, increase flexibility, help with balance and stabilization in joints, and increase power.” During Kettlebell class you can expect to see exercises such as squats, swings, snatches, and deadlifts.
The class is open to all, “If you are a newcomer to kettlebells or just want to learn more about them, the class is an excellent way to learn proper form and new exercises you can incorporate in your regular exercise routine. The class itself can be formatted into circuits or intervals where participants produce a great full body workout! It is always exciting and full of high energy from participants.”
