The focus of this outdoor climbing trip is to gain experience in the skills necessary to lead personal top-rope climbing excursions in the outdoor climbing environment. Skills taught will include, but not be limited to: basic climbing knots, instruction on setting passive and active rock protection, equalizing of anchors, safety issues, as well as outdoor climbing etiquette. Upon completion of this weekend workshop participants should have a good understanding of how to set and utilize existing outdoor anchors, while capitalizing on the opportunity to do some outdoor climbing. Blue Mounds State Park is located in the southwest corner of Minnesota.
