Drop-In Badminton and Volleyball
Badminton will no longer be played in State Gym due to ISU Men's Basketball using State Gym as a
practice facility. As a result, Recreation Services has created 4 new badminton courts on the
east end Mondo (red) surface of Lied Recreation Athletic Center on courts 12, 13, 15 and 16.
Beginning Sunday, October 1, badminton may be played in the Lied Recreation Athletic Center.
Designated times for badminton and volleyball are as follows:
Sunday - Thursday
6:30-8:30 PM: 4 badminton courts
8:30-11:30 PM: 2 badminton courts and 2 volleyball courts
Friday
6:30-9:30 PM 4 badminton courts. 1 volleyball court may be set up, if requested.
Saturday
All Day - Courts set up as needed.

Racquetball Court Reservations
Eligible users may reserve racquetball courts online through
the Racquetball Court Reservations.
Racquetball Court Rules
- Reservations are for one hour and may be made up to one day in advance.
- Only clean, non-marking, athletic shoes intended for wood floors are allowed.
- Avoid striking the court walls and floor with racquets.
- For your safety, Recreation Services strongly recommends using a
racquet equipped with a wrist cord and wearing protective eyewear.
- Courts are forfeited 10 minutes after your reservation time if you
fail to show up.

Eligible Users
ALL USERS MUST PRESENT A VALID ISUCARD ENCRYPTED WITH THE CURRENT VERSION NUMBER IN ORDER TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE LIED RECREATION CENTER.
Students:
All students currently enrolled at Iowa State University, and who pay the
current student activity fees, are eligible to use the Lied Recreation Center.
Spouses and dependents of current ISU students are eligible to use the Lied
Recreation Center by purchasing the appropriate pass. Spouses and dependents
must be 18 years of age or older. A valid ISUCard encrypted with the
current version number is required to purchase a pass.
Continuing Student Pass:
This pass allows ISU students continued access to Recreation Services
facilities and programs during a semester or summer session when they are not
officially enrolled as students. To be eligible for the Continuing Student
Pass, a student must have been enrolled and completed the previous academic
session at ISU. Eligibility to participate in the Continuing Student Program
will be verified by the Recreation Services Department. Eligibility and
enrollment forms are available at the Recreation Services Administrative
Offices, 2220 State Gym and at the Lied Recreation Center Service Desk.
Rec Program Pass:
This pass is only available for student spouses/dependents. It provides the
user with access to all Recreation Services programs and facilities. The cost
of this pass is equivalent to the Recreation Services portion of the Student
Activity Fee paid by registered ISU students.
Faculty/Staff & Others:
Current faculty/staff, retired faculty/staff and current Alumni Association
members are eligible to use the Lied Recreation Center by purchasing the
appropriate pass. Spouses and dependents of current faculty/staff, and
spouses of retired faculty/staff are also eligible to use the Lied Recreation
Center by purchasing the appropriate pass. Spouses and dependents must be
18 years of age or older. A valid ISUCard encrypted with the current
version number is required to purchase a pass.
Affiliate employees are also eligible to use the Lied Recreation Center
by purchasing the appropriate pass. A valid ISUCard encrypted with the
current version number is required to purchase a pass.
Affiliate spouses are eligible to use the Lied Recreation Center,
however, they are not eligible to be issued an ISUCard. Please
contact Recreation Services directly for information regarding the purchase of
affiliate spouse and/or dependent passes. Spouses and dependents must be 18
years of age or older.
Guests:
Guests accompanied by an eligible user (listed above) may purchase a
one-day pass to use the Lied Recreation Center. All guests must be 18 years of
age or older.

Services
Locker Rental
Rental lockers with towel service are available on a first-come,
first-served basis for all eligible users. Rental may be on a semester
or annual basis. Workout clothes (shorts, shirts and socks) are available
at an additional cost. Day-use lockers are available on the 1st and 3rd
floors of the Lied Recreation Center. Combination locks may be purchased
at the Lied Service Desk.

Equipment Checkout
Recreation equipment for daily use may be checked out at the Lied Service Desk (C100) by presenting a valid ISUCard encrypted with the current version number. Volleyballs, basketballs, wallyballs, racquetball racquets, eyeguards and other equipment are available for checkout. Racquetballs are also available for purchase at the Service Desk.
Reservations
Racquetball Court Reservations
Eligible users may reserve racquetball courts online online through the
Racquetball Court Reservations.
Facility Reservations
Space is available on a limited basis for tournaments and
special programs. Request forms need to be submitted two weeks prior
to the event. Policies and procedures for space reservations are
available at the Lied Recreation Athletic Center Service Center or
2220 State Gym. Reservations must be made using our online
