Free Agent Registration Open:  Tue, 18 Aug 2009
Registration Open:  Mon, 24 Aug 2009
Registration Close:  Wed, 2 Sep 2009 @ 7:00 pm
Divisions:  Open
Location:  Ames/ISU Ice Arena - Gateway Hills Park Dr. (just south of Towers Residence Halls)

Description:
Curling is similar to shuffleboard on ice. Large stones (with handles) are "curled" down the ice to a target area. The object of the game is to have your team's stone/s closest to the center of the target area. Teams have 4 members compete on the ice and a game takes 45 min.-1 hour. Players wear closed toe shoes and they must be clean -- dirt is very hard on the ice.

REGISTER your team online and print out the "Registration Payment Form". The team fee is $15 and must be paid with the "Registration Payment Form" at the Recreation Services Office - located in the "Office Trailer" - which is SE of State Gym between Helser and Martin Halls. The $15 fee can be paid with cash, check, MasterCard/Visa or with a full page IM Purchase order form from the Campus Organizations Office. Rec Services Office hours are: Mon.-Fri. 8am-5pm.

Eligibility:
Current ISU students, faculty-staff, affiliates and spouses of students/faculty/staff are eligible if they have a current ISU ID card. Spouses and affiliates may purchase their ISU ID card for an annual fee of $15 at the ISU Card Office (Beardshear Hall). Players need to bring their ISU ID card to each game.

If you need more players -- check out the "Free Agent" list above.

4 players play each end. An end is kind of like an inning in baseball. There are 4 ends in a game. The same 4 people play an end.....then you can substitute different players for the next end, so you can play with more than 4 players if you choose to. A game can start with a minimum of 3 players.

You may register a team without knowing everyone who may play. For curling, you can add new players to your team by just bringing them to your game and putting their name on the scorecard.

Forfeits:
If a team does not show up for their game and they do not notify the sport director or the Recreation Services Office in advance -- there will be a $20.00 fine.
